Shuri-te Karate is a Japanese striking and grappling style of martial art, which has a strong Okinawan influence Shuri-te Karate is governed by the United Martial Arts Association (U.M.A.A.) which provides training and technical support to its members. The main objectives of the U.M.A.A. are to promote the study and the spirit of martial arts. In doing so, also show that martial arts are beneficial both mentally and physically, and as well as being enjoyable recreation it also provides a means of self defence. We are a non-profit making organisation. Fees for lessons, gradings, licences etc. cover costs such as rent and equipment.
